Vegas cake!

So as we all know in Hawaii. Vegas is our 9th island.
I was excited to start working on this vegas cake.
I've had my share of Vegas trips so I kinda knew where to start when it came to cake design. I kept it green like a poker table, added some fun vegas elements like the dice, poker chips, coins, and of course the fabulous vegas sign. Since it was for an older lady I thought adding some red rose gumpaste flowers will soften it up. Overall it looked awesome.
I cant wait to get another vegas themed cake, I'm sure that'll happen soon with vegas on everyone's minds.

Hello Kitty Cake for a best friend

Saturday I created a cake for one of my best friends. It was her 21st birthday party. The cake will be featured on my Facebook page:  http://www.facebook.com/prettysweet.gk
Kim (Phish) and I have been friends for a really really long time. She's been on vacay here and leaves in 2 weeks. While she's here she thought of having a belated birthday party at Cortabella pool in Ewa Beach.
And of course the theme was Hello Kitty. So I went and made her a special red velvet Hello Kitty themed cake. It took me 4 hours to make! But the time was worth it because it came out great. Although her mom had already bought her a sheet cake & cupcakes from a store, we thought the more the merrier. By the time I got there, they already sang happy birthday & everyone was eating. So after the eating & fun games it was time to sing happy birthday AGAIN but with the cake I made. The sparkler candles were a great added touch for the cake. Thank goodness the celebration took place outdoors or we might've had some uninvited firefighters, not the stripping type either. Overall it was great! Great laughs with old friends, great food, great music, and great memories. Happy Birthday Phish!

New Blog

Be gentle, I'm new to blogging.
I've been "caking" for a little over 2 years now. Yep "caking" is what I call it.
My creations are a great creative outlet to my life and sugar brings happiness to everyones life.
I'm just spreading around the sugar. Lol
Once I fully figure out how to get this blog thing up and rolling I'll post some pics. As of now
